There are 3 types of skin undertones, warm, cool, and neutral. Finding the right one for you will help you choose colors of makeup and clothes that look amazing on you. In this blog I`ll tell you how to figure out what your skins undertone is, why its important to know what it is, what each one means and what colors are best with what tone.
Why is it important to know your skin tone??
You can find out what colors and shades of make up and clothes look best and enhance your looks and coloring.
-With the correct colors your skin tone will appear radiant and glowing
Your eyes will appear clearer and brighter
With the wrong colors your skin tone will appear tired and drained, you will look washed out.
Your eyes may appear shadowed with dark circles.
How do you find out what skin tone you have?? There are a couple tests you can do on yourself. These should all be done in natural light.
The vein test: If the veins in your arm appear blue, you are cool toned. If the veins in your arm are greenish, you are warmed toned.
White or Off White? Black or Brown?
Take white, off white, black, and brown fabric or clothes and try all of them on. If you look better in black and white fabric or clothes your cool toned. If you look better in brown and off white
What do warm undertones mean?
Your foundation should be yellow based. Earth tones like olive, brown, and rusts would look amazing as nail polish, eyeshadows, and clothing.
Warm Colors
Some examples of warm colors are oranges, bronzes, golds, peaches, brick reds, earthy greens, mocha browns, and ivory
What do cool undertones mean?
Your foundation should be pink based. Jewel colors like blues, violets, and emerald green would look amazing as eyeshadows, nail polishes, and clothes.
Cool Colors
Some examples of cool colors are jewel tones, vibrant emerald green, royal or icy blues, rosy pinks, silvers, plums, blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, and magentas.
There are always exceptions
This isn’t always exact. Some people could test as warm tones and look amazing in cool tone colors.This is just a tool that can help you find colors that look good on you. Some people just know their undertone by experimenting and knowing what colors look amazing on them and what colors make their skin look washed out or sickly. Some people look good with both warm and cool colors. Those lucky people are call neutrals.
Just remember, your beautiful no matter what and if you love wearing a color from your opposite undertone or a bunch or colors from it and think it looks good on you then rock it!!!
